The Present Progressive Tense,

2.Act out some activities to lead in and teach the new words.

eg. open the door. T: –What am I doing? Ss:–You are opening the door.

talk on the phone T:- What am I doing? Ss: You are talking on the phone

New words: read clean talk on the phone

3. Ask students some questions.

T: What are you doing? Student A: –I am listening. T: What is Student A doing? Ss: –He is listening.

4. Show some pictures to the students to present other sentence structures:

What is he / she /it doing? --He/She/It is…

What are they doing?—They are…

In this way to revise some names of activities.

Step2 Match work (P25:1a)

(1) Show a picture with an apartment to the Ss and ask: What is this?–It’s an apartment.

Teach apartment / happy.

(2) Show the picture on Page 25 to the Ss and say, This is a happy apartment. There are many people in it. Today is Sunday. Many people are at home.Now, look at the pictures.Work in pairs to ask
