1. Teach students the new language (what do you do? I am a …; Where do you work? I work at /in….What do you want to be? I want to be a/an…)by using the scenes in activity 1a. Then let students practice the new language in spoken conversation.(work with partner)
2. Show a photo of my family, then introduce the members’ jobs. Teach students the new language (What does he /she do? He /she is a/an… where does he/she work? He /She works … What does he/she want to be? He/She wants to be a/an…) .Then ask and answer about their family members and friends’ jobs.

Ask and answer questions about the chart. Like the following dialogue:
A:What does Anna’s mother do?
B: She is a bank clerk.
A: What does Anna’s mother want to be?
B: She wants to be a policeman.

Talk about the jobs (waiter, nurse, bank clerk, policeman, reporter),then look at the pictures and match the jobs with the people in the pictures.
Play the recorder and repeat them.
