T:“Spell it,please.” is the same as “How do you spell it?” (Write “Spell it,please.=How do you spell it?”)

Get Ss to practice spelling the new words by making conversations like that. 2.Ask two students to read the short conversation in 1b.The class read it aloud. T:A and B,can you read the short conversation in 1b? Ss read it aloud.

3.Ss ask and answer in pairs.Then the teacher asks some pairs to act out in class. T:Look at the pictures or use your own things to ask and answer.You’d better not read the words in 1a.

The teacher helps them with this following sentence. ☆教材解读☆ How do you spell it? 英语中常用代词代替已知的名词。本句中的it代替对话中提到的需要拼写的单词。 How do you spell it?用于询问或要求对方拼写单词。同义的表达方式还有: Spell it,please.请把它拼写出来。 Can you spell it?请你把它拼写出来好吗?(你会拼写它吗?) Do you know how to spell it?你知道它如何拼写吗? [设计意图] 通过先给学生做个示范,运用对话的方式学习生词的拼写,让学生观看和谈论图片,直接将物品与英文相联系对单词进行记忆,使学生一直在英语语境里。 StepⅣ Oral practice (1c-1d)

1.Before the students listen,the teacher shows the students two pictures;one is on the playground and the other is at the Lost and Found.

T:Listen to the conversation and answer my question “Where are they?” Ss listen and answer the question.

T:Are they on the playground?Are they at the Lost and Found?

2.Tell the class to listen and circle the things in the picture of 1a. T:Now,look at the picture in 1a,listen again and circle the things you hear. Play the tape for the students to finish 1c.

3.T:Look at Linda’s and Mike’s forms.they are talking in the conversation.Listen again and fill in the forms.

Play the tape for the third time.Ss finish the task.Then ask:

T:What are they doing??They’re looking for their lost things.(Use gestures to show the meaning.)

Play the tape once more for them to repeat.Get the students’ attention to the sentences “Here you are.” and “Here’s your?”.The teacher explains them with gestures,handing something to somebody.

1.Divide the students into teams.Make a competition to see which team writes the most words about lost things.

T:Now,divide four teams.Let’s have a competition.Please write the words about lost things.Team 1 writes words in column 1,Team 2 writes in column 2,Team 3 in column 3 and Team 4 in column 4.Every time,only one member of each team can come to the blackboard and write the words.Let’s see which team writes the most words within 3 minutes.

Check the words.

T:Now,let’s check your words.Team 1 checks the work of Team 2,and 2 checks 3,3 checks 4 and 4 checks 1.Then read the words.

2.T:How can we find the lost things at school?(The teacher asks the question to lead the class to think.)

Ss:?(The students may think of many ways of finding lost things.They may say in Chinese.)

T:Look at 2b.These are notices on the school notice board.Please read these notices and circle the lost things.Scan the picture,please.How many notices are there?

Ss:Four.

T:Read these short passages and quickly find the answers.What’s lost/found? Ss:A computer game,a watch,keys,a school ID card.

T:How can you find these things?(Remind them of the first sentence of each notice.)

The teacher should explain the meanings of the words “Lost and Found”. ☆教材解读☆ Lost and Found 在西方国家,学生不小心在学校里丢了东西,通常会写一个 Lost便条,上面写出丢失物品及联系方式。同样,拾到东西时也会写个 Found便条。有些学校也会专门设立一个失物招领处,如 Lost and Found (box箱子,office办公室,room房间,desk台,桌子??),便于大家找回丢失的物品。 3.Read these lost and found messages.Finish the task in 2c.

T:Please read these notices again.Write down the things (items).Is it lost?Is it found?

Ss work in their seats.The teacher helps them to find the clues.

T:Look at the first notice.Is it yours?We know this computer game is found.Is the school ID card lost or found?

Ss:Lost.

T:How do you know that? Ss:I lost my school ID card.

T:Well,now,please read these passages and learn how to write a lost notice and how to write a found notice.

4.Ask the class to read these notices aloud.

The teacher should explain language points in the passages. ☆教材解读☆ 1.Ask the teacher for it. ask?for?“向某人索取某物”。 You can ask him for the dictionary.你可以找他要那本字典。 Don’t ask me for it.Go and ask your father.别找我要(它)。找你爸爸去。
