Abstract：China’sregistrationsystemhasbeenthebiggestobstacletolabormobility.Itiswidelybelievedthatreformforthesysteminducedagreatlotofpermanentmigrationinrecentyears.However，therewerefewstudiesforthereform’seffectonruralworkersmobilitywhichisalsoanimportantpartofurbanization.Afterthecentralgovernmentdefinitelymadetheobjectsofregistrationsystemreformclearasstrictlycontrolthescaleofmega-citiesandrationaldevelopmedium-sizedcitiesandsmallcitiesin1998，anewquestionraised：isthesystemreformeffectiveforre-distributefarmerworkers？Thispapermainlydiscussedtheeffectbymedium-sizedcityhouseholdregistrationreformduring2003—2006.ThequantitativeeffectonfarmerworkermobilityactedbyregistrationsystemreformwasstudiedbyusingDifferenceinDifferenceregressionwithmicrocontrolvariables.Itfoundthatthereislittleevidenceforthesignificanteffectsofregistrationreformonfarmerworkersmobility.Inaddition，socialnetworkandincreasingfarmingincomehavesignificanteffectsonfarmerworkersoutofvillage.
