[Abstract] ThisarticleassessedthegeneticrelationshipandgeneticdiversityinDioscoreaalata.Twentysampleswereexam?,andanalyzedbyISSRmarkers.Theresultsshowedthat20sampleswereclassifiedintothreediffer?inedtoidentifytheiroriginalplantsentplants,suchasD.alata,D.persimilis,andD.fordii.TherewassignificantdifferenceingeneticsimilaritycoefficientbetweenD.ndD.persimiaswellasD.fordii.TherewasdistinctdifferencesinD.alata,thegeneticsimilaritycoefficientwasresultedfromalataa0.6729to0.9907.WithUPGMAclusteringmethod,16samplesofD.alatacouldbedividedinto4groups.Aftercomparingsampleswiththephenotypiccharacteristicsoforiginalplants,itshowedthatthecolorandthenumberoftuberwerethemostimportantcharacter?isticsofjudgingthegeneticrelationshipofD.alata.ItisconcludedthatthegeneticvariationofDioscoreasppissignificant,especially.alatawereinahighlevel.ThisarticlesuppliedamolecularbiologicsupportfordistinguishingDioscoreathegeneticdiversityinDspp,andalsoprovidedbasisforbreedingofD.alata.
