一、课程性质、地位和任务

大学英语教学是高等教育的一个有机组成部分，大学英语是非英语专业本科学生必修的一门重要的公共基础课。大学英语教学应根据国家和社会对英语综合应用能力、尤其是听说能力的需求，在帮助学生打好语言基础的同时，应特别重视培养学生英语实际应用和交际能力，尤其应加大对听、说、写等产出技能的训练强度和考核比重，为学生真正具有国际交流能力打下厚实的基础。大学英语教学是以英语语言知识与应用技能、学习策略和跨文化交际为主要内容，以外语教学理论为指导，以遵循语言教学和语言习得的客观规律为前提，集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。

该课程的教学任务是通过培养学生英语综合应用能力，特别是英语听说能力，使学生在完成所规定学时的课程学习后，能够比较正确地使用英语语言进行交流，能够借助参考书籍阅读英文原版教材，能够进行基本的专业文献翻译，能够用英语进行口头和书面交流，使他们在今后学习、工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行交际，同时增强其自主学习能力，提高综合文化素养，以适应我国社会发展和国际交流的需要。同时，通过在教学中对英美文化的讲授，使学生对英美文化有较多了解，为学生进一步学习英语以及出国深造打下较扎实的语言基础和文化基础。 二、教学目标及要求

通过课堂教学，旨在指导学生在深入学习课文的基础上，了解相关文化背景知识；从词、句、语篇等角度进行听、说、读、写、译多方面的语言操练，

使学生能较好的掌握英语词汇及短语的运用，能够运用所学单词及短语进行日常会话及书面写作；着重培养学生的英语语言能力和综合应用能力。

教学要求：

听：能听懂老师用中英文授课，能基本听懂对方谈论日常生活的内容。 说：能就课文简单的日常话题进行初步交际，能清楚地表达主要意思。 读：能基本读懂一般性题材的英文文章，理解基本正确。

写：能填写和模拟套写常见的简短英语应用文，如表格、简历、通知、信函等。语句基本正确，格式基本恰当。

词汇量：掌握参考词汇表中列出的3000个共核词汇（含在中学阶段已经掌握的词汇）以及由这些词构成的常用词组，能在口头和书面表达时加以运用。根据具体情况适当学习一些与行业相关的常见英语词汇。 三、教学内容及安排

教学目标：

After finishing this unit, students will be able to: 1. Get some idea of leisure activities on campus; 2. Talk about some clubs and society on campus; 3. Learn to use the key words and expressions in this unit; 4. Learn to use correct verb tenses in making sentences;

5. Learn to adapt the reading skill Improving Concentration while reading; 6. Learn to create a poster for music concert and an invitation to a party. 重点、难点：
