The free-radical scavenging activity (DPPH) assay examines the primary antioxidant potential, while the superoxide anion (SOA) scavenging activity and hydroxyl radical (?OH) scavenging activity assays examine the secondary antioxidant potential. The reducing power assay, on the other hand, examines both primary and secondary antioxidant capacity.
