Unit 1 Things I like doing

Tasks in this unit:

1. Use yes/no questions to ask about people’s likes. 2. Use modelled sentences to answer the yes/no question. 3. Understand how to express likes. 4. Learn the sounds: k, g Language focus:

1. Using verbs and verb phrases to indicate actions. (e.g., run, skate, hop, ride a bicycle, skip a rope)

2. Using yes/no questions to ask about one’s likes. (e.g., Do you like doing…?) 3. Using modeled sentences to answer the question. (e.g., Yes./No. I like doing…) Language skills: Listening

1. Identify the key words by listening to the pronunciation. (e.g., run, skate, hop, ride a bicycle, skip a rope)

2. Understanding expressions of one’s likes. (e.g, I like doing …) 3. Understanding yes/no questions to ask about one’s likes. (e.g., Do you like doing …?)

4. Identifying the sounds by listening to the pronunciation. (e.g., k, g) Speaking

Identifying the key words and phrases by listening to the pronunciation. (e.g., run, skate, hop, ride a bicycle, skip a rope)

Materials: student’s book, cassette player, pictures and word cards, some photos of famous people.

PROCEDURES Ⅰ.Pre-task preparation: CONTENTS 1. Warming up 2. Daily talk 3. Review the verbs. METHODS Rhymes and songs. T→Ps: 1) Ps: Read. 2) Ps: Make the rhyme. T: (Say and act) Look, I can run/ skate/ hop. Ps: Follow T. “skate, skate, I can skate” Ps: Spell the words. Ps: Listen to the song on page 17. Ps: Sing. 1) T: I can sing. I can dance. I can write. I can do many things. But I like singing. 2) (Show the photo of Liu Xiang) e.g., I’m Liu Xiang. I like running.
