Summary of research on dissolved organic carbon(DOC)

Abstract: Researches on dissolved organic carbon (DOC) have been increasing in ecological system. The sources, components, ef-fected factors, environmental effects and measure methods arc reviewed in the presented paper. Although much more studies on DOC should be conducted to understand the behavior of soil DOC in the future, it is clearly indicated that DOC is an important active chemical component in soils. Researchers widely believe that the solution, adsorption, desorption, transport and some other processes of pollutants are enhanced predominately due to their complexation with DOC. Key words: dissolved organic carbon; environmental effects
