The brain of human cognize f satisfying f (g) = * f (), so the brain is conscious. Here, cognition is not only used for human, it is a physical process just as cognition of a pattern by a computer.
The sample shows that the essence of language of human is ability of processing symbols, the laws of processing correspond the natural laws.
Example 2. Chinese room argument. The question is: is the computer which accepts the Chinese words or sentences and translates them to the corresponding English words or sentences only by the translation regulations in a closed room (named Chinese room) conscious?
Answer. The computer in Chinese room performs a1ga2……an = b1*b2 ……b n, but it does not set up the correspondence f satisfying f (a1), f (a2) ……, f (an) ,f a1ga2……an and f (a1) *f (a2) ……*f (an), i.e., the computer does not set up the mapping between the symbols and the entities outside the symbols. So the computer in the Chinese room is not conscious. In this sense, most computers in most circumstances are not conscious unless they set up f satisfying f (g) = * f () and cognize it.
Example 3. Turing machine. The question is: is Turing machine conscious?
Answer. Turing machine is similar with the computer in Chinese room, it has only the regulations of processing the symbols but not builds the correspondence F so Turing machine is not conscious unless Turing machine sets up f satisfying f (g) = * f () and cognize it.
Example 4. Turing test. The question is: is the computer passed Turing test conscious?
Answer. The computer passed Turing test is similar with the computer in Chinese room, it has only the regulations of processing the symbols but not builds the correspondence F so it is not conscious unless it sets up f satisfying f (g) = * f () and cognize it.
Example 5. Do animals have consciousness?
Answer. Birds, insects, mammal etc. can remember, it means the information is saved. So animals can set up the correspondence between information in their nervous system and the entities remembered, i.e., the correspondence F in f (x1) ,f (x2), ……f (x n) exists. Animals have few operations for information x1,x2, ……x nbut the operation exists indeed in the nervous system of animals. It can be proved by an instance of bird constructing nests. The instance can be analyzed by the model as following.
f (information of branches for constructing nest in the nervous system of birds): the branches for constructing nest (as the entities)
f (information of tree for the nest): the tree for the nest (as the entities)
g: conjunction of information * : conjunction of entities
f (information of branches for constructing nest,
(4)
information of tree for the nest g) is couscious for that
f (information of branches for constructing nestginformation of tree for the nest ) = the nest made of the branches in the tree
= f (information of branches for constructing nest in the nervous system of birds) *f (information of tree for the nest)
= construction of nest
For birds cognize f (information of branches for constructing nest in the nervous system of birds) (i.e. f (x1)), it means that the nervous system of birds cognize or build the correspondence between the information saved in nervous system for action and the branches as the objects. Similarly, birds cognize f (information of tree for the nest) (i.e. f (x2)), thus birds have the primary conscious function. Besides, the birds have the higher function to process (operate) the information, i.e., birds cognize f (information of branches for constructing nestg information of tree for the nest) (i.e. f (x1gx2)), it proved by cognition of nest (nest is the result of f (x1gx2)), meanwhile, birds cognize f (information of branches for constructing nest in the nervous system of birds) *f (information of tree for the nest)), it also proved by cognition of nest (nest is the result of the operation of the two entities of the branches for construction and the tree(i.e. f1 (x1) * f(x2)), in fact, f (x1gx2) = f (x1) * f (x2) in the instance. So, the nervous system of birds is F’ which is conscious.
The dispute might be if animal have the expected or speculated and integrated view (such as the nest) of the units or segments they saw ( such as the branches for construction and the tree for the nest), i.e., if animals have ability to perform x1gx2 and expect or speculate f (x1gx2). Karl Marx asserted that there must not be the expected or speculated and integrated view of the units or segments they saw. He said that the worst constructor better the best bee for there exists an expected or speculated building in the brain before building yet bees do not. [3] Here we introduce the two samples to prove that the bees do have information of the expected or speculated and integrated view of
