I will allow many winners to slip away waiting for "my" trade rather than to accept extra risk. Ifeel this is a key element for the small investor. Most traders lack discipline to follow clearguidelines to govern their trading and give up gains eventually, especially when the Marketchanges. I have often seen traders making good money during a Bull Market only to lose whenthe Market changes. They end up confused and broke most of the time.

Exploit 4 Niche Patterns

I play only 4 types of patterns that I have tracked over the years. Dumpers, Gainers, News, andPublication stocks (such as Business Week). These provide the consistent springboard fromwhich I can spot patterns that repeat over time and continue to repeat over and over again. Youwill be taught how to recognize which of the four patterns are active and how to play each one.

Limits Losses to absolute Minimum

My system normally limits losses to 1/8, because I exit the trade at a pre-determined exit point. INEVER RIDE A STOCK DOWN. My approach is to keep the emotions in check by having apre-determined sell point. I allow the stocks momentum and the particular type of trade tell mehow to react, not my emotions. Those that cannot control their emotions usually BUY at the highand SELL at the low, and in the end lose.

Reduced Trading Hours

When I am trading, my day usually is only 4 hours long. Most of the trading action occurs before9:00 am pacific standard time. Normally stocks will find a fairly narrow trading range by theneliminating most of the opportunity for profits. If I feel like working all day I will scan my newssources for hot stories but I generally only get about 2 per month. I will always be working thelast one hour of the Market to see how the momentum stocks are behaving.
